  • Unload and arrange stock; carry boxes and containers to the market floor

  • Handle items with care to prevent damage or spoilage, and report damaged goods or packaging issues right away

  • Restock and tidy displays throughout the afternoon so the market stays full and welcoming until close

Welcome and patron support

  • Answer questions about available items, quantities, and market guidelines

  • Support patrons in accessing the items they need, offering choice wherever possible, and offer a hand with bags or carts

  • Keep the market floor calm, respectful, and welcoming for everyone, including during busy periods

Intake and checkout

  • Support sign-in and registration for new and returning patrons

  • Record market visits accurately and confidentially following our intake process

Cleanliness, safety, and communication

  • Check items for expiry or spoilage when stocking, and set aside anything questionable for the lead

  • Report hazards or safety concerns immediately

  • Communicate clearly with team members, ask for clarification when needed, and support other volunteers or staff as directed
