Duties

Oshawa Little Theatre (OLT), a non-profit community theatre, is seeking experienced, volunteer Props Leads for each of three musical theatre productions in its upcoming 2025-2026 season: "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee", "Shrek" and "The Full Monty". Leads for the first two shows are needed almost immediately for part-time volunteer hours, reporting to the respective Production Teams.

Property Leads should be able to:

  • identify, with Production teams, cast and script, all props requires for production
  • lead Props Assistants to meet production schedule
  • research, source and acquire props from a variety of sources
  • with Props Asssistants, design and craft props which may need to be handmade, using a variety of media
  • be available as needed (with some flexibility and independence of action) through rehearsal period and for show run of 3-4 weekends to assign, organize and oversee props by scene and character
  • work within production budget for props

Dates and Times Monday: Evening (Subject to rehearsal & Production Mtg Schedule) 
Tuesday: Evening (Subject to rehearsal & Production Mtg Schedule) 
Wednesday: Evening (Subject to rehearsal & Production Mtg Schedule) 
Thursday: Evening (Subject to rehearsal, Production Mtg & Show Dates) 
Friday: Evening (During show run, as needed) 
Saturday: Afternoon (During show run for matinees, 1 or 2 Sats) 
Sunday: Afternoon (During show run, 1 Sunday) 
 
Schedule for the Props Teams will be dependent on the rehearsal and show schedule with some independence of action and some delegated dates and times to Assistants.
Seasons Spring - The Full Monty ; Fall - The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee ; Winter - Shrek (Nov-Dec) ; Shows run Thurs-Sat/Sun for 3-4 weekends. Props work will intensify closer to production opening.
