Role Overview
Location: Pickering, Ontario (Remote / Hybrid)
Position Type: Volunteer
Afiwi Groove School is seeking a detail-oriented Volunteer Program Impact & Evaluation Lead to help measure and communicate the impact of our programs. This role will focus on collecting data, evaluating program outcomes, and helping the organization demonstrate its impact to the community, partners, and funders.
The Program Impact & Evaluation Lead will work closely with program coordinators and leadership to ensure that Afiwi’s programs are effectively meeting the needs of youth and the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support program evaluation frameworks to measure the effectiveness of Afiwi programs.
- Design and implement participant surveys, feedback forms, and evaluation tools.
- Collect and analyze data on program participation, engagement, and outcomes.
- Track and document youth achievements, program milestones, and community impact.
- Prepare impact summaries and reports to support grant applications, reports to funders, and organizational planning.
- Work with the communications team to help translate program data into impact stories and key highlights.
- Provide recommendations to improve program effectiveness based on evaluation findings.
- Support the development of annual impact reports.
Qualifications
- Experience in program evaluation, research, community program assessment, or data analysis.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to design surveys, collect feedback, and interpret data.
- Strong written communication skills for reporting and documentation.
- Interest in youth development, arts education, and community programming.
Assets
- Experience with nonprofit program evaluation or community-based research.
- Familiarity with tools such as Google Forms, Excel, Airtable, or survey platforms.
- Experience supporting grant reporting or impact measurement.
- Background in education, social sciences, or program development.
Time Commitment
- Approximately 3–5 hours per week
- Additional time may be required during program cycles or reporting periods.

We are a not for profit registered charity organization. Directors participate in monthly meetings including administrative duties, fundraising initiatives, public events and approval of successful crime stoppers tips.
As per our By-Laws, employed Police and Government employees are not eligible to sit on the Board.
The Board of Directors represents the leaders of our agency and serves as a working board that oversees the long term strategic vision and overall health of the organization. The Board of Directors will also annually review and approve plans for funding in view of organizational goals. Board members have a list of responsibilities that they renew every year during the annual election at our Annual General Meeting.

- Experience in nonprofit governance, leadership, or relevant fields (e.g., arts administration, social services, business management).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and make informed decisions.
- Availability to attend board meetings, committee meetings, and special events as required.

Financial Oversight: Ensure the financial health of the organization by reviewing financial reports, overseeing budget processes, and ensuring responsible fiscal management.

Governance and Compliance: Ensure the organization adheres to legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements, and maintain high standards of governance.

Risk Management: Monitor and evaluate potential risks to the organization and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.

Board Engagement: Attend and actively participate in Board meetings, committee work, and other key events, providing valuable input and support.

Advocacy and Representation: Represent the organization at public events, in the community, and with potential donors or partners.
- Evaluation and Improvement: Regularly assess the organization’s performance and contribute to discussions on continuous improvement.
